The first thing you should do is call the Legal Aid Society at (502) 584-1254 to see if we can help you. Our services are free, but you must qualify first.

When you call our office, you will be asked questions about where you live, your income, and your legal problem.

If you qualify for our services, we will schedule an appointment for you with one of our attorneys or paralegals who will review the merits of your case. Please keep in mind we are not able to help with criminal cases.

Our intake line is open during the following hours:


Monday:         10:00 AM to 4:00 PM
Tuesday:         10:00 AM to 4:00 PM
Wednesday:   10:00 AM to 4:00 PM
Thursday:       10:00 AM to 6:00 PM
Friday:             Closed

We accept walk-in clients during the following hours:

Monday:         8:30 AM to 4:00 PM
Tuesday:         8:30 AM to 4:00 PM
Wednesday:   8:30 AM to 4:00 PM
Thursday:       8:30 AM to 4:00 PM
Friday:             Closed

 

We always try to accommodate applicants with Limited English Proficiency and other special needs. Please let our receptionist know if you require a translator or other special services.

The Legal Aid Society offers our services to residents living in the following counties: Jefferson, Oldham, Trimble, Henry, Shelby, Spencer, Washington, Marion, Nelson, Bullitt, Larue, Hardin, Grayson, Breckinridge, and Meade.
